“Red, Yellow and Blue” public art installation by Orly Genger in Madison Square
Park, New York City. Over 1 million feet of hand knotted rope and thousands of
gallons of paint were used to create this amazing installation. Be sure to check out
the Orly Genger by Jaclyn Mayer jewelry collection.

I’m looking for art to feature on my forthcoming newly
re-branded blog. I would like to open this call to my readers
since I have received such wonderful links to your art in the past
I will still be focusing on art that incorporates
thread, along with photography, collage and modern craft. Please
send links or recommendations – don’t be shy!

New tiny skull series featuring silver metallic faces on colorful psychedelic
backgrounds.
I am so enamored with the textile art of
Bauhaus master, Gunta Stolzl. Her woven pieces
could easily be from the 1960′s or 70′s, my favorites
shown below are from 1923 – 1928

Knitted by Connie Wright for THIS IS Studio

I love these animal creatures from South African artist Magda Van der Vloed.
Magda incorporates crochet granny squares, wire frame, telephone wire and image transfers
in their construction.

Woven Walls by Wies Preijde. The woven thread and
different patterns used in this installation create the appearance
of three dimensional walls.

I love the fiberglass and tapestry taxidermy by Frederique Morrel.
I discovered them three years ago and they continue to amaze me with their superb and cheeky craft.
